Heartward is a company started by two great friends, Jess and Heather, who want to spread the love and send their hearts forward. Heartward does this in a simple, but impactful way: thoughtfully made goods. We at Heartward think everyone can use a reminder to share love and positivity with those around them. We hope that our goods -- starting with children's t-shirts -- inspire you to do so.
Heartward strives to promote positivity and loving-kindness through thoughtfully made goods.
Hi there! I’m Jessica (or, Jess). I’m one half of Heartward, and I’m also on the eleventh year of running a paper company, Breathless Paper Co., out of Nashville, TN. Born in Florida, raised in Atlanta, and now living in Nashville with my husband and two kids, River and Scout.
I’ve been a hard worker, helper and maker my whole life, whether it was designing furniture and lamps in my dad’s furniture manufacturing warehouse, driving trucks of furniture back to the warehouse, helping merchandise my mom’s retail shop… you name it. I’ve always loved getting my hands dirty and getting creative. That’s why Heartward is such an important project to me -- it combines my love of creativity with my love of love and of spreading kind messages that help add to the world’s supply of positivity. Plus, getting to work with Heather is pretty much a dream come true.
Heartward was of course inspired by both Heather’s and my own children. Their big hearts and silliness bring endless smiles and we want to make products that reflect that. It’s important to us to not only create t-shirts with heart, but to share a little of our hearts with you. So, here are a few of the things that make me, me:
I’m crazy about my husband, Matt. He is the kindest, most hard working, talented, faith-filled guy I know. I love him and I like him, and I love watching him be the best father to our little ones.
I’m all about music. The first night Matt and I met, he gave me a CD, and I think I knew I was going to marry him.
I love love love sending real mail, and running a paper company makes that easy. ;)
Heartward is one of my most favorite words. It’s so cool to get to turn it into a full-fledged brand. Thanks for being a part of it.
Hey! I’m Heather. I’m one half of Heartward and also the sole owner of my own business, Louette Boutique. I am originally from Altanta but am currently living and raising my two girls, Ella Grace and Rose, in Hilton Head, SC.
I’d like to think I’m a glass-half-full kind of gal. Life’s thrown a lot of crazy things at me, but positivity prevails. I worked so many jobs -- including one as the world’s worst waitress -- before finding my passion and opening my boutique in Hilton Head. Now, I get to work with my best friend on a brand with a mission. How great is that?
Heartward is all about putting a kind, loving foot forward at all times, and that to me means being honest about who I am and sharing that with you guys. So, a few things about me:
My husband and I met on a pretty bad blind date where we decided to just be friends… you can see how well that worked out. ;)
My husband and I both own our own businesses… we’re busy. :)
I love grocery stores and cake more than the average person. Seriously, I don’t share cake. Don’t even ask.
I might be a hard worker… but I’m definitely not organized.
I secretly listen to rap music in the car when my kids aren’t around.
Jess and I became best friends in 3rd grade because of a pretty gnarly pair of skeleton earrings.
Jess and I were on the same swim team in the summers. We took it very seriously and prepared for meets by giving each other facials.
Most importantly… I’m so excited to embark on this Heartward journey with you all along for the beautiful, positive, forward-looking ride.

Our favorite words + Phrases to remember:
Work hard and be kind.
Good people, bring out the good in other people.
Kindness is one of the greatest gifts you can bestow upon another. If someone is in need, lead them a helping hand. Do not wait for a thank you. True kindness lies within the act of giving without the expectation of something in return.
People often forget that kindness is free.
Spread love everywhere.
You don't need a reason to help people.
Be the good no matter what.
